Porcelain and Ceramic Crowns
Occasionally however, a tooth may require a crown restoration. This most commonly occurs if a tooth is cracked or has had a root canal. A cracked tooth needs to be addressed promptly to hopefully avoid excruciating pain, possible infection, gum surgery, or loss of the tooth. They can also be placed for aesthetic purposes to correct alignment or size problems. A crown can be made of several different materials, such as ceramic, zirconia/porcelain, porcelain to metal, and cast gold. Each material has its own specifications for placement which, as your dentist, we will help you decide.
What People Say
We usually see Dr. Weir and this was our first time seeing Dr. Thomas, but he was great as well. Ms. Holly is the greatest, especially with kids. I used to have a major fear of going to the dentist and now it's kind of a nice thing to do. Thank you all!
