We are excited to be back in the office. We do still want to make clear that the safety of our patients and staff in regards to COVID-19 is paramount. In order to safely open the office, we have created new patient exposure procedures, as well as, have made changes to our office infrastructure to ensure the safest possible environment for all. Below, you will find info detailing our new patient check-in procedure, facts about our new HEPA/UV filtration air system, and other facts about the reopening. We hope this page answers any questions or concerns you may have, and we are excited to see you in the office soon. Click Here to contact us should you have any questions.
Patient Check-In/Out Procedure
In an effort to limit unnecessary exposure, we have created a new procedure for our patients to check-in for their appointment. At the heart of this new procedure is the understanding that both our patients and staff have to be Symptom Aware.
This idea of being Symptom Aware is simply to protect our patients and staff. COVID-19 is still a credible threat, and we will treat it as such. Please respect our processes and procedures, and if you are showing signs of these symptoms, please call us to reschedule your appointment. To this, our new patient check-in/out procedure is as follows:
- The patient arrives at the office for their appointment and calls the office to let us know they are here.
- We will ask health screening questions over the phone, while the patient waits in their car.
- Once we are ready for the patient, we will call and invite them into the office where they will have their temperature taken and be asked to apply the supplied hand sanitizer.
- The patient will be socially distant upon re-entry to the office.
- The patient will be directed to the chair and the procedure will take place.
- Any check-out paperwork will be performed with a glass barrier between the patient and front desk staff.
- The patient is free to exit the office.
- Remember to wash your hands and social distance.
These steps have been designed with COVID-19 safety in mind and we ask our patients to be respectful of this process and we will work to move through it as quickly as possible. We also ask you to respect our decision to reschedule your appointment should we feel that you have symptoms that could potentially put our office at risk.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Changes
PPE is used daily in our business, and it is something that we rely on to keep not only our patients but our staff as safe as possible. As part of our office-wide COVID-19 response, we have updated the amount and type of PPE that we will use for every procedure. So don't freak out when you see us in this new stylish getup, as it is for all of our safety. The new PPE that we will be utilizing is:
- Scrub Cap
- N-95 Masks
- Surgical Gown
- Safety Glasses/Face Shield
Office Infrastructure Changes
Our office has gone through many changes over the years. Shout-out to those of you who remember the
small appropriately sized first office. All of these changes reflected a need at that time, and now we have identified a new need and have acted accordingly. COVID-19 still is a real concern to public health, and to address this, we have decided to fit our office with a HEPA/UV Filtration Air System. Sounds fancy right? Well, it is and is all about the patient and staff safety.
This air filtration is a welcomed addition to our office, and we are excited about the amount of safety it can provide us with. We felt that this was a necessary investment to ensure that our patients are as safe as possible and that our staff has a safe space to work during these times of COVID. This will not only allow us to turn over a room quicker, but it also allows us to do so confidently knowing that we are taking the best steps forward in protecting everyone from COVID-19.
COVID-19 Is Still A Threat
Despite all of these improvements and procedures, we want to stress that COVID-19 remains a credible threat to public health and should be treated as such. We will continue to strive to provide our patients with the most up-to-date information regarding the virus, but want to stress that visiting us is still a potential risk to your health as it pertains to COVID-19. To this we humbly say that we can not take responsibility should you fall ill to the virus after a visit to our office. We strive to do everything and then some to keep your visit as safe as possible, but there are some things that are simply out of our control. Should you have any questions regarding how we are approaching the virus and opening the office, please do not hesitate to call us or send us an email. We will be more than happy to explain our new patient contact procedures to you in an effort to calm any concerns you may have. As always we greatly appreciate your business and are excited to see you very soon.
