Smile Gallery: Gum Grafting

This patient was having sensitivity at the gumline associated with gum recession. We recommended a gum graft which utilizes the patient's own skin to fill in the defect.

These patients were concerned about the esthetics of their front teeth, which showed a lot of gum recession. Connective tissue grafts using the patients own gum tissue, allowed Dr. Thomas and Dr. Weir to repair and improve the gum health and esthetics. Both patients were thrilled with the outcome.

This patient had thin gums around her lower front teeth, requiring gum grafting to help thicken the ginigiva. Dr. Thomas and Dr. Weir at James Island Dental Associates are able to perform this procedure using patients own gum tissue.
